Hurray, the centre is slowly coming back to life!

After a few quiet months we’re so happy to see people coming back, albeit in small numbers. It’s also exciting to use the other side of the centre now that the nursery has moved out.

We’ve always wanted a garden and now we’ve got one! Today we used the garden for the first time which was wonderful, sitting in the sunshine having a socially distanced chat.

Our community builder, Amy was hosting a Pop Up Listening session, to find out our thoughts and feelings about lockdown. Everyone observed social distancing and wore masks if going into the building and we took everyone’s details for the track and trace programme.

Elsewhere in the building the kitchen was busy with the Hot Food Project. A team of fabulous volunteers cooked a meal which is then delivered to local families.

More fabulous volunteers were helping the Exeter Foodbank which continues its weekly sessions, 10am to 12pm. If you haven’t been for a while we’ve now got a new entrance, at the far right of the building.

A recently started new service, appointments with midwives, was also operating today. The midwifes are settling well and providing booked appointments with pre-natal and post-natal mums.
