What a Great Party!
The Great Christmas Cracker Pull, pancakes, coffee and cake were enjoyed at our very busy Community Drop-In Christmas Party.
Everyone at the party stopped what they were doing to simultaneously pull Christmas crackers together, put on the hats and swap jokes. There were cakes and pancakes on offer, the Exeter Foodbank which operates here every Friday was extremely busy, as were a group from Exeter churches giving new toys to foodbank families.
Exeter Community Energy was on hand to give advice about helping reduce energy costs and the Spinning Top Toy Library was open. There were free vegetables and groceries kindly donated by Tesco and Morrisons.
A group of volunteers spent the morning very kindly decorating the centre’s large window as part of the Beacon Heath Living Advent Trail. We’re the last window on the trail and we’re and we’re uncovering our display, with a jolly little do, on Christmas Eve at 4 – 5pm – see details below in next article.
Centre manager Kate Galliford said: “It was a very busy morning and it was wonderful to see so many different organisations and volunteers helping our local community here in Beacon Heath to enjoy a more festive Christmas.”
The Community Drop-In is open tomorrow Friday 28th December from 10am until noon; hot drinks, cake, free pool, baby and children’s toys, Knit and Knatter. Come along and enjoy the festive fun.
